eyes of a bird

When I was taking the pictures, I took this very close with the macro setting. I couldn't see what I had captured until I got him safely back in the house and put everything on my computer. It wasn't sunny and it wasn't raining. He was sitting on a stone and a cedar tree went up over both of us, softening the light just a little but more for me. when the breeze came up, little bits of dew filtered onto us from the branches above, and from my clematis which began its ascent just last year. I hadn't realized that he'd been touched until I saw the small drops upon his lashes in this picture. I made those lashes for him when I was unable to find any that I thought fit him. I wanted him to look natural in that respect. It looks like he's just stopped crying and the tears are still in his eyes...the kind of crying you do when you think no one is watching and you can just let go. Perhaps this is the moment before he rubs his eyes, stands up, and walks away. Dallieh should certainly be afforded such moments with all that I have put him through, I just hadn't expected to capture them.

this is an abstract of My Resin Soul, Dallieh. Though I love the other pictures I was able to get, this one is just different. I love that it says a lot more than seeing him whole. I hope that you know what I mean.
